Discrimination isn’t just for white people anymore

For those of you who haven’t heard, Alberto Gonzales was recently accused of discriminatory hiring/firing practices during his tenure as US Attorney General.  Let’s skip the irony in the fact that Gonzales was probably never would have gotten his job in the first place if it weren’t for the Bush Administration’s attempt to bring some color into the Cabinet… it’s more interesting to just look at some of the ridiculous stories.

I could mention all of the different examples, but I’d hate to downplay the firing of Margaret Chiara, who was dismissed because of a rumor (which she claims to be false) that she was in a homosexual relationship.  Many of her colleagues were fired because their political stances weren’t conservative enough… but this is just ridiculous.

Of all people to fire for homosexuality, why would you pick a lawyer?
