Why gang leaders (and nobody else) should vote for McCain

Why gang leaders (and nobody else) should vote for McCain

Obama has been carrying as much as 90% of the black vote in many states.  It’s no secret that many people vote for him solely because of the color of his skin (of course, there are probably just as many people who won’t vote for him because of the color of his skin).  And they have good reason for it… they can trust that Obama has a strong understanding of minority issues and that he will make that a priority.

So why do I think that ghetto gangbangers should vote for McCain?  Well, it’s because McCain promises more of Bush’s laissez-faire attitude regarding what’s going on in today’s ghettos.  He may speak out against drugs and violence, but he’ll let the gangsters keep their guns.  He’ll keep marijuana laws stringent, allowing the gangs to maintain their monopoly on drugs (if it’s hard to get into the drug trade, that means less competitors for the big gangs).  He won’t be as tough on corruption, so the gangs will be able to continue to keep cops and key politicians on their payroll.

Obama, on the other hand, has to be different if he wants to avoid looking like he’s favoring black people.  Just look at the eloquent words of Shine, a gang leader from Obama’s hometown of Chicago:
See, a black man has to get tough on his own people, show he’s tough. That’s the only way white folk will support him. That’s why, when you got black folk leading the police, you get more [black men] getting their asses kicked.

And the response from his friend Flavor, another Chicago gang leader:
“See, that’s why Marlo (a character from HBO’s hit show “The Wire”, which is what they were actually discussing at the time) is going to go crazy on the streets! Because that white mayor won’t have the balls to do nothing. But a black man as president? Whoo! I’m getting out of the game if that happens. Black on black policing. That’s a bitch.”

If Obama is elected President, then Flavor says himself that he’s “getting out of the game.”  I’m sure that plenty of others may be doing the same, or at least reducing their operations substantially.  And that’s why gang leaders (and nobody else) should vote for McCain… if you think that gang violence is an important problem in our society, then Obama is your man.

  1. Oh snap! You mean all we have to do is make guns illegal and the gangs won’t carry them? Damn! Where the hell have I been? Errr, but then the drugs are illegal and the gangs distribute them… Does that mean that if guns were illegal, they’d. I’m confused, could you go over that again?

  2. No, gangs wouldn’t stop carrying them… but it would be harder to get them. That would definitely have an impact.
